Settlement Details

This settlement resolves claims that Facebook violated the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) by collecting and storing biometric face scan data from users without their informed written consent through its "Tag Suggestions" feature.

Illinois Facebook users who appeared in photos on the platform between June 2011 and August 2021 may be eligible for payment.
